Ode to Husband
With Love to Husband on Father's Day
You are the best Father on earth! Your love is immeasurable and never ending.
You would give anything and do anything for your family and frequently do!
Rising above the call of duty and often falling into the pit of exhaustion because you work so hard.
An amazing Father and Husband - we could not be more loved.
Together you and I brought the most beautiful child into this world and he is the spitting image of you.
And more than looking like you, he's inherited your best traits! Kind and loving, playful and funny, sensitive and giving. And you're both pretty darn good snugglers!
I don't worry that Buddy will be a great man, because he has all the example in you that he needs.
I thank God every day for blessing me with the husband and father of my dreams!
These past nine years have been amazing! We had our struggles, but also much more love and compassion.
Your mom once told me that every couple each weaves it's own beautiful tapestry. At times it will be dark, others light with vivid colors in between. Sometimes we will have to carry one another and other times we will walk side by side. And together we will create an exquisite work of art that is all our own.
I love you and always will.
Disclaimer: Yes I did write this before Father's Day, and Husband did read on Father's Day... I'm just really, really, slow... that is all.

7 Ways to Feelbetter (not a typo)
My brain is fried. Before I signed in to blog I had to sit here and think - is it [dot]blogspot or @blogspot... Wow. I'm tired. But since I haven't posted since the giveaway, (which was HUGELY sucessful by the way) < insert sarcasm > I figured I better get something out there before I lose all 13 readers. I mean really... C'mon you guys! A free manicure or pedicure! Who doesn't want that. Big ups to Ann (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!), Silly, Katie and Megan for entering. Oh, yeah...and sorry Megan who I think entered without realizing she had to come to Utah to get it. :-) And who wants to do that? I promise I will have goodies in the future for peeps anywhere in the US. (roar of the crowd in the background!)
So life... Yeah. It's been crazy. End of school year, field trips, beginning of summer school (no they don't make kindergartners go to summer school - it was cheap and I figured it would help keep his brain from melting for at least another four weeks) Then it's buddy's birthday tomorrow - Happy Birthday Dude! (stop growing up you're killing me - I miss my baby!) and Father's day! Bank account dwindled.
And now we come full circle. My point, which is not at all like a circle.
Something needs to change. I was looking online last week about how to better my blog, since I'm new at all this bloggy stuff and I happened upon ProBlogger.net which in turn led me to the authors other blog feelgooder.com, which is where I stumbled upon his eBook 7 ways to feel better. Man could I use that right about now. It's a 39 page document you can print out that you can journal in and has questions, tips, inspiration and resources in the 7 areas of exercise, saving, connecting, eating, acting (as in service), play and thinking or thoughts.
NO I'm not being paid to promote this (not that I would be opposed to that!) but I felt it would be great for me and even "gooder" to share it and invite others along to complete this challenge with me. So for the next seven weeks I'm going to take some time every day to work on my booklet and post about my progress. (Seriously, I'm not getting paid for this. See - there's no hyper linky things.) I just love you, that's all! But I want you to play along. Do this with me! Tell me how your doing, make suggestions, comments and bring your ideas to the table. Let's begin shall we?
Ok - Ready, Set, GO!
....well, hurry up! What are you waiting for?
Disclaimer: This is actually not a disclaimer... I am doing this to fool you! I am not being paid for this but I will give you the linky things anyway because I want this to be more successful than my giveaway. Plus, I make my disclaimer smaller anyway. (See older posts) Here's your link already www.feelgooder.com/feelbetter
oh, Ha Ha! I just looked at the link and it's actually supposed to be a seven DAY challenge. Not seven weeks. I'm slow alright... and grumpy. Which happens when I'm tired.

Get Nailed Giveaway! *** Closed ***
Ok Ladies... Listen Up!
I'm so excited! This is my first giveaway ever! I'm giving away a full set manicure or pedicure! Up to $25 in value!
Um, Awesome!
Have you heard of Sheekee Nails? Or Maybe Glitter Toes? How bout Shellac? I hadn't either until right before my trip to Florida in April. I had heard of Minx nails and knew they were all the rage. I wanted something fun, colorful and a little wild for my getaway vacation! I asked around at salons here in Utah and when I asked if they did Minx nails they practically looked at me cross-eyed. Come on Utah! Get with the times! So, I took to the internet in search of my coveted Minx look and found a solution. Cute Lisa Terry who owns Get Nailed Salon! Lisa does what is called Sheekee nails.
Sheekee nails look just like Minx, except they are better. They are great for the natural finger nail or toe nail and won’t cause any damage to the nail plate. They apply very easy and last for up to 2 weeks on your fingers and 4 weeks on the toes. Now if you still aren't following, let me catch you up. Basically they are what are called nail wraps that come in a variety of designs and colors. They are a heat activated product, but unlike Minx they can be applied with either a heat lamp or a hair dryer. This helps remove expensive start up costs as most salons already have a hair dryer. They also are designed to work in conjunction with an acrylic or gel overlay. This means that its harder for the design to come off, get caught on anything, or peel off. They also last longer! Sounds fabulous right? Now enough talk... let's see some pictures shall we? Yeah
That's only 10 out of 1, 2, 3, ..... um, a lot! And I also put in a picture of how you can use it for your tips. If you can't tell I'm partial to designs with silver or chrome in them.
(Sorry it took me forever to get those pictures on here and when I tried to title them it screwed it all up again. So, from top to bottom they are Dip n Dots, Strippee Purple, Glass Slipper, Muse, Paisely Power Black, Prom Night, Courtesan, Hotness, Ms. America, and Oh So Glam!)
So, Here's how it's gonna work -

Yay!! It's Summer
For me, today summer has officially begun! The un-official beginning of summer has come and gone (Memorial Day), and I just picked up Buddy from his last day of school! It's warm, sunny and it's here! I'd like to quote my friend Wendy regarding the beginning of summer, "BRING IT!"
What are you going to do? I have been obsessively looking online for fun games and activities. You know, stuff to do at home, get all creative and cute mommy-ish! I've found a couple cute ideas. Like a backyard obstacles course, banana pops (Yum!), nature walks, and camping. I know, not like those are ingenious ideas, but I've never had to transition a child from school to summer. It is an adventure for us both.
Ahhh... BBQ, homemade ice cream, and FIREWORKS!!! Oh yeah, and I need to get a flag for our yard! How fun would it be to get all dressed up as a family in matching patriotic costumes for the traditional pancake breakfast and morning parade??? Super cute right? And I even found the coolest place to make my fourth of July dreams come true! Costume Supercenter! And they have a great deal going on right now. Here's a coupon cause I know we are all a little tight financially! And I know my own propensity to procrastinate until the last minute, but not on this. The coupon only last until June 7th! Hurry up!
So, this year we don't have any big summer vacations planned (I know...so sad...) but we are going to make the most of it! I love to entertain and plan on having a few parties. I've never had a Luau but would love to do one. Get all my friends together, cook up some yummy grub and pull out my poi balls for a little entertainment. I have them, I really do! And I KNOW how to use them! Watch out!
