Yay!! It's Summer

For me, today summer has officially begun! The un-official beginning of summer has come and gone (Memorial Day), and I just picked up Buddy from his last day of school! It's warm, sunny and it's here! I'd like to quote my friend Wendy regarding the beginning of summer, "BRING IT!"

What are you going to do? I have been obsessively looking online for fun games and activities. You know, stuff to do at home, get all creative and cute mommy-ish! I've found a couple cute ideas. Like a backyard obstacles course, banana pops (Yum!), nature walks, and camping. I know, not like those are ingenious ideas, but I've never had to transition a child from school to summer. It is an adventure for us both.

So, what's your favorite part of summer? Mine? Fourth of July definitely!

Ahhh... BBQ, homemade ice cream, and FIREWORKS!!! Oh yeah, and I need to get a flag for our yard! How fun would it be to get all dressed up as a family in matching patriotic costumes for the traditional pancake breakfast and morning parade??? Super cute right? And I even found the coolest place to make my fourth of July dreams come true! Costume Supercenter! And they have a great deal going on right now. Here's a coupon cause I know we are all a little tight financially! And I know my own propensity to procrastinate until the last minute, but not on this. The coupon only last until June 7th! Hurry up!

So, this year we don't have any big summer vacations planned (I know...so sad...) but we are going to make the most of it! I love to entertain and plan on having a few parties. I've never had a Luau but would love to do one. Get all my friends together, cook up some yummy grub and pull out my poi balls for a little entertainment. I have them, I really do! And I KNOW how to use them! Watch out!

I am SO excited! Are you ready? I am! Here's to a summer to remember!!

  1. Sun and grub are always a fantastic way to pass the summer!!! Hopefully, every child makes it back to school with all limbs intact. :)
